يوليو 19، 2012 نشاط بركان

Just the "Regular Performers" today! Namely,...البركان (المكسيك)، نييراجونجو (Congo) and فويغو (Guatemala).

At Popo, numerous volcano-tectonic earthquakes are rattling the volcano as it regularly emits pulses of gas and ash,...up to 3-4 times per hour on average.

John Seach (Volcanolive.com) reports Fuego volcano is emitting a lava flow, though seismicity has diminished dramatically at the volcano in the past 24-48 hours.

At Nyiragongo, the volcano continues to expel volumes of SO2 into the atmosphere. Ground observers assure us that there is no eruptive activity to speak of occurring, rather the plumes are the result of added volatiles and convection from deep within the Nyragongo volcanic plumbing system.

Video's

KD Etna published a short time-lapse video earlier today of the incandescent glow which could be noticed at Etna's Bocca Nuova (Sicily, Italy) crater yesterday night. Activity is rather faint but gives an impression of what could be seen. We have the impression that the glow was stronger on July 16 (see picture in our report)

Yesterday, we reported a faint SO2 plume originating from Dukono volcano (Halmahera, Indonesia). Today we can show you a video from a recent visit at this volcano via exploredesa.com (video dates from July 10). People living near the volcano said that the volcano is active since more than 5 years, but the activity increased at the end of May. Strombolian eruptions with lava bombs are reported several times a day.
